2005 - 2008 Strategic Plan
The New Mexico School for the Deaf's Strategic Plan has been an indispensable road map and has truly been a beacon for school-wide improvement. The plan has seriously impacted student achievement and has increased public awareness of NMSD and the unique educational needs of deaf/hard of hearing students.
The 2005 -2008 Strategic Plan has been developed and is currently being implemented. The following are the focus areas and sub areas for NMSD's second Strategic Plan cycle:
Focus Area - Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
Sub Areas - Early Childhood, Curriculum and Assessment K-12, Critical Thinking Skills, ASL Curriculum and Training, Spoken Language, Amplification and Cochlear Implants, Student Development Plan (After School Programs) and Transition
Focus Area - Family/Parent Involvement
Focus Area - Outreach and System Level Considerations
Sub Areas - Newborn Hearing Screening and Increasing Public School Capacity
Focus Area - Increasing Public Awareness
