NMSD Library

Dear Students,

Books and reading are precious to me and not just because I’m the Librarian here at NMSD.  This has been a life-long love which I want to see spread to all our students.  Our teachers, teacher-aides, student life educators, administrators and other staff members join me in this important ambition.  I’d like to share our Readers’ Vision with you:

It is crucial that the NMSD Library be a comfortable and positive place for all of you.  We want you to enjoy coming to the Library for different reasons:  to read, to check-out books, to do homework or work on your projects, to see what books, magazines and other literature are here, to relax, to have meetings or to hold presentations and many other purposes.

The main goal of the Library is to “grow” your respect and love for books.  We hope you will have the desire to read for different reasons:  for pleasure, to find out information, to finish your assignments, to share books, to improve your reading skills and many other purposes.

How will we know that you and other students are really reading?!  It is when you are “caught reading” everywhere:  in the classroom, in the Library, in the cottages, in the dining room, on the buses, in the gym and of course, at home.

Onward to the love of reading!
