Dr. O'Neill Visits

Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Kate O’Neill, and her Chief of Staff, Mario Suazo, visited the New Mexico School for the Deaf’s Santa Fe Campus on Thursday, April 25, 2019. While on campus, Secretary O’Neil and Mr. Suazo met with Dr. Rosemary Gallegos, NMSD Superintendent, preschool through High School students, families and babies from NMSD’s Parent-Infant-Child Program, and staff members. During their visit, they learned about NMSD’s vast and comprehensive educational, residential and Statewide Early Intervention and Outreach Programs. Dr. Rosemary, Gallegos, NMSD’s Superintendent shared, “Partnerships with state agencies like Higher Education are highly critical. It was an honor to have Dr. O’Neill and Mr. Suazo visit NMSD as it provided them the opportunity to experience first-hand, the care, skill, and passion our staff provide children in all of our programs.” After her visit, Dr. O’NeilI stated, “Thank you for such a thorough and informative tour of the NMSD campus. What a warm and welcoming introduction to your community. Mr. Mario Suazo and I really appreciated the passion, dedication and skill that you and your faculty and staff bring to the full spectrum of deaf education. Your students are clearly well-taught, well-loved, and well-served—from birth through high school!” Thank you for your support Dr. O’Neill and Mr. Suazo. You are welcome any time!
