Overview

NMSD believes athletics are an integral part of the school's educational program, providing experiences to help young people to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. Students have the unique opportunity to participate in athletics and communicate directly with their coaches and teammates, starting from elementary school sports through high school.

We work to instill values that lead to success through hard work, commitment, sacrifice, preparedness, and doing the best that one can on a daily basis. We believe that participation in athletics helps students develop better health, physical fitness, and improved motor skills. Athletics also promotes self-esteem, self-discipline and the desire to excel. Additionally, students develop a healthy respect for authority and respect for others, while learning the ideals of fairness in relationships. We believe these values carry over into the classroom and lay the foundation for success in a student’s life.

While winning and the spirit of competition are innate objectives for all athletic contests, we believe that at NMSD, the desire to win is also used to pursue more important objectives and life lessons such as sportsmanship and fair play.

Sports Programs

NMSD offers a wide range of sports programs for children in Elementary School through High School in Fall, Winter and Spring seasons. Offerings are subject to change.
