Lars M. Larson

Founding Father, Lars M. Larson, along with his wife Belle Larson, had a dream that Deaf children in New Mexico would have the opportunity to be educated. They established NMSD on November 10, 1885, in a small house located on Manhattan Street in Santa Fe with two students in attendance. From there our school has flourished and to this day, we proudly continue their legacy. Thank you Lars and Belle Larson for your vision, passion, and dedication. Happy Founder's Day!
